Seniors Games Move From Louisville to California

Kentucky athletes who will compete in this year’s National Senior Games gathered in Louisville this morning for a send-off. The 2007 event was held in Louisville; now the torch is now being carried to Palo Alto, California.Mary Ann Fitzharris of Louisville will compete for the first time in racquetball.“I don’t know if I’ll be able to win a medal, but the thing I do know is that I’m already a winner," says Fitzharris.  "I have totally won. I’m healthier, I’m stronger, I’m happier, and I’m just having a lot of fun. And I’m really going to kick butt in Palo Alto.”Nearly 150 Kentucky athletes over the age of 50 will participate in the Senior Games in California. They take place the first two weeks in August.
