Mayor's Hike and Bike Kicks Off Today

The Mayor’s twice-annual Hike and Bike takes place today. The Hike and Bike is held on Labor Day and Memorial Day, and this year’s spring event kicks off around ten in the morning, with events and warm ups at Waterfront Park prior to that.Mayor Jerry Abramson says the Hike and Bike will travel along the Clark Memorial Bridge and back, through Portland, the Northwestern and Southwestern Parkways, to Shawnee Park, and back to Waterfront Park.“It’s approximately 15 miles, with several turnaround points for routes as short as two miles, so you can make the ride as challenging or as relaxing as your and your family want to make it," says Abramson. There’s also a three-and-a-half mile walking route, which can also be used by people with strollers or wheelchairs at Waterfront Park.
