A new competition staged by Metro United Way seeks to encourage new ideas in social innovation. The LIVE UNITED Social Innovation Prize is looking for new ideas in the areas of education, income and health.Director of Community Building Howard Mason says the agency is hoping for 100 submissions and proposals on how to put them into action.“We’re looking for the next round of people who have a good idea, who have a heart for humanity and making things better and have strong enough sense of how to get things done that they can actually make it happen," says Mason.Three entrants will be awarded five-thousand dollars, and one will receive ten-thousand to help them get started. They’ll also get mentoring from Metro United Way.
