Construction Workers Injured at Arena Site

Some of the construction work on the Louisville arena has been halted after an accident this morning left three workers with non-life threatening injuries.  The workers were pouring concrete, when part of the structure collapsed.  Mortenson Construction Senior Vice-Preident John Wood says work is halted in the area in which the accident occurred, but they’re working elsewhere.“We determined there’s no good reason to suspend work in other areas of the site, where the concrete construction is not underway in this form, so that work will continue," he says.Wood says they’re awaiting safety inspections from three different structural engineers, including one from OSHA.  He says that process will take several days, but the timeline for completion of the project won’t be affected.
