Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson has started work on his budget proposal for the next fiscal year, and more cuts are likely. In his State of the City address to the Downtown Rotary Club, Abramson focused on the opportunities for growth in Louisville under the federal stimulus package.Afterward, the Mayor said he expects the stimulus to help generate revenue, but overall growth is likely to be down for the next fiscal year."I would think we'll have less revenues in this upcoming budget than we had in the budget that we already had to cut $20 million off of," he said.Abramson says more cost cutting measures โ including layoffs โ are on the table for the next budget. He'll present his proposal to the Metro Council in May.
