Clarksville Again Seeking Designers For Colgate Plant

The town of Clarksville is once again looking for a firm to put together a master design plan for the old Colgate property. Officials hope to turn the unused factory and the area surrounding it into a mixed-used development once the property is sold.A designer was chosen earlier in the year, but the town council canceled the decision because local property owners had not been consulted. Redevelopment Director Rick Dickman says developers can once again apply for the job."All we're looking for is letters of interest and we're going to do so until the 13th,' he says. "Then we're going to see how many companies actually submitted – I suspect it will be quite a few. We will establish a meeting for the advisory group to meet and they will review all 50 of them, or all 20 of them, or however many do submit."The plant's sale has not been secured, but Dickman says a buyer is close to finalizing the deal.
