Organizers of the so-called “Green Convene” hope to build a new coalition of area organizations that would use its collective influence to promote environmentally sound policies in local government. Participants in the two-day workshop will be surveyed about their priorities. And organizers plan to seek feedback from government officials, industry representatives, and local nonprofits. Registration for the event is now full, with nearly 250 signed up to attend. Scheduled speakers at the event include Representative John Yarmuth, Kentucky Resources Council head Tom Fitzgerald, and head of Louisville’s Air Pollution Control District, Lauren Anderson.
