An out-of-state electric crew worker, helping to restore power in western Kentucky, has died after a pole he was working on snapped. 35-year-old Andrew Reichwein was working on the pole with a Jackson Purchase Energy employee Tuesday night when the accident occurred. He died this morning at Lourdes Hospital. Jackson Purchase spokesman Patrick Kerr says he was one of many helping Kentucky recover from the deadly ice storm.“We had actually more than 300 out-of-state workers here at Jackson Purchase Energy alone, helping restore power just in our service territory," says Kerr.Kerr says the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives and the Public Service Commission are investigating the accident. Reichwein was an eight-year employee of Connexus Energy in Ramsey, Minnesota. He leaves behind a wife and four-year-old daughter, for whom Jackson Purchase has set up a memorial fund.
