More than 607,000 Kentucky electric customers are without power, making this outage the largest on record in the state – ever. This outage tops the number left without power after the remnants of Hurricane Ike swept through last September. The Commission warns more Kentuckians could experience power outages as tree limbs continue to fall and take out power lines. Cell phone, telephone, and cable services have also been disrupted in many parts of the state. Outages could extend into next week as repair crews scramble to restore power.
