State and local officials say they're ready for the storm that's expected to bring the first significant snowfall of the winter to the region.The National Weather Service says the Louisville area could receive three to four inches of snow by Tuesday, followed by a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain.Kerri Richardson with the mayor's office says Louisville Metro road crews have been trying to stay ahead of the precipitation."We began brining routes on Friday night to get us through the weekend, and that will stay on the roads for several days. then we treated the roads last night with a little bit of salt, all our routes overnight," Richardson said Monday morning.The Louisville Metro Public Works Department is responsible for clearing just over one thousand miles of roadway in Jefferson County. Another one thousand miles are cleared by crews from the state, small cities or private contractors.
