Youth Alive Plans To Investigate Crash

The four teenage boys who died in a Louisville car crash last week were all participants in the Youth Alive outreach program. Now the organization is investigating their deaths. The four teenagers rode to a community event in a Youth Alive van, but program officials say they accepted a ride home with another Youth Alive participant. The car in which they were riding had been reported stolen.   It crashed during a police chase, killing everyone but the driver.Youth Alive will launch an investigation into the matter next week.  Officials want to know why the boys didn’t ride home in the van.Board chair Rita Hayes says the organization is still figuring out how to approach the investigation.“That’s something that the board of directors is going to have to determine," she says. "We obviously want to be very thoughtful and very prudent about how we go about gleaning that information from various people who were actually there that evening.”Hayes says there’s no timeline for a final report, but when one is ready, it will be presented to the victims’ families.
