A New York man has become the fifth person in the U.S. to undergo a hand transplant.All five operations have been performed at Louisville's Jewish Hospital.Spokesperson Barbara Mackovic says 43 year old Erik Hondusky of Messina, New York received a new right hand in a nine-hour operation on Monday."Mr. Hondusky lost his right hand in an accident, it was a furnace accident at work," Mackovic said.The accident occurred two years ago.Mackovic says Hondusky will likely be hospitalized for five to seven days then will undergo physical therapy in Louisville for about three months.
