Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards will speak at Indiana University Tuesday. The former North Carolina senator hasn’t spoken publicly since acknowledging an extra-marital affair in August. Indiana Union Memorial Board Lectures Director Andrew Dahlen says the scandal hasn’t lessened student interest in the event.“Students are very interested. They are extremely excited for the opportunity of having a two time Presidential candidate and very nearly could have been the Vice President of the United States coming to speak.”After admitting the affair, Edwards said he would not speak publicly until after the general election, but Dahlen says that decision did not affect his scheduled IU appearance.“We initially had ours after the election because we wanted to recap," he says. "We wanted his analysis after the election, not necessarily to get caught up in the politics before.”In addition to election analysis, Edwards will offer his thoughts on the future of American politics.
