Abramson Promotes Mayors' Stimulus Plan

Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson testified Wednesday on Capitol Hill,  where he asked lawmakers to approve a stimulus plan proposed by the U.S. Conference of Mayors.Abramson says the $150 billion Main Street Stimulus Plan would create jobs, repair aging infrastructure and improve schools and public housing."We are not asking for a bailout, we are not asking for a rescue, we are asking for an investment that will immediately create real jobs, and I emphasize that,  will immediately create real jobs,"  Abramson told the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.The Conference of Mayors' plan would spend billions of dollars on public transit enhancements, highway and airport upgrades, and more public safety jobs.
