US Captures Ryder Cup At Valhalla

The U.S. Ryder Cup team defeated Europe Sunday at Louisville's Valhalla Golf Club to capture the international golf trophy for the first time since 1999.                       The Americans won the championship by a score of 16-and-a-half to 11-and-a-half. Kenny Perry was one of two Kentuckians on the U.S. team, which he says got a much-needed boost from the partisan crowd.                          "I just can't thank them enough, they kept us pumped up, they kept us going, and it was just a magical week. That was my word all week was magical, when I started my hot stretch this summer, and I had the greatest day of my life today," Perry said. The U.S. team played without Tiger Woods, who's recovering from knee surgery.(Photo courtesy of www.rydercup.com)
