Kentucky Historic Preservation officers will flock to Bardstown later this week for an industry conference. Held every two years, the conference is also open to those who aren’t in the industry and just want to learn about the process of gaining historic preservation status.Kentucky Heritage Council Acting Executive Director Mark Dennon says the Bluegrass State is a great place for history buffs."When you look at Kentucky from a historic preservation standpoint, we stand far and above most of the rest of the country and that just speak to our historic resources, the value they have, but also the appreciation the people of Kentucky have for our resources," says Dennon.Dennon says Bardstown is a great location for the conference, because of its multitude of historic sites. The conference begins Thursday.
