Ford Motor Company has announced earnings for the second quarter, reporting a loss of $8.6 billion.As it released earning numbers this morning, Ford also confirmed that it will convert three truck plants to produce smaller cars. It will retool the Louisville Assembly Plant to produce vehicles on the European Focus frame, starting in 2011.The company also said it will move production of its large sport utility vehicles - the Lincoln Navigator and the Ford Expedition - from Michigan to the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville.
