This week HomeGrown offers up two wildly different looks at turf management. Bob and Jeneen speak with a ranger at
the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge Complex, where they are using goats instead of tractors to keep understory plants cleared. Besides being more eco-friendly, this approach may in the future help prevent or contain the severe wildfires that are currently devastating the area. Later they visit Valhalla Golf Club to speak with Superintendent Mark Wilson, who explains their efforts to prepare the fairways, greens, and roughs for the spotlight of the 2008 Ryder Cup.Find out more:
