KSP Revises Patrol Methods Due to Fuel Costs

High gas prices are changing the way the Kentucky State Police patrols will be conducted over the holiday weekend. Lieutenant Phil Crumpton says cruisers patrolling for interstate speeders will remain stationary, but they’ll be just as effective."We’re still working, we’re still watching and looking, the difference is between us going to the world and the world coming to us. We’re still out there on our patrols and checking for speeders and making sure people are wearing their seat belts, we’re just doing it in a stationary fashion as opposed to moving around all the time," says Crumpton.Crumpton says they’ll also make use of more checkpoints. He says there will be about 200 of them now through Labor Day weekend.
