Boat Rentals Down Amid High Gas Prices

High gas prices may mean fewer boats in the water at area lakes this holiday weekend.Holiday revelers may be less likely to travel far from home this weekend because of gas prices. They may also be hesitant to spend money on renting a boat when it ALSO has to be filled up with gas. But even if they wanted to – Taylorsville Lake Marina owner Javin Montgomery says they’ve got less money to do it."There has been a slight decline I think primarily from expendable income, because most people’s income is affected by them having to put so much in their tanks now, that they don’t have the extra expendable income to spend on extraordinary opportunities," says Montgomery.Montgomery says they’ve seen rentals and sales dip in the last few weeks.
