JCPS Board of Education Evaluates Berman's First Year

Jefferson County Superintendent Sheldon Berman received a glowing evaluation from the Board of Education Monday night during his first annual review. Berman took over the district a year ago, around the same time the U.S Supreme Court found its student assignment plan unconstitutional.Board Member Carol Haddad praised Berman’s willingness to tackle the situation."He loves taking on challenges, which I like doing so I think philosophically we agree on a lot of things. But when student assignment, when we disagreed, he sat down and talked with us and listened to our concerns and I think that’s something new for us," she said. All the board members joined in praising Berman’s work over the past year. They voted unanimously to approve a one-percent discretionary raise for the superintendent.
