Hike'n'Bike Launches Today

The Mayor’s bi-annual Hike’n’Bike takes place today in Louisville. More than four-thousand people are expected at the Hike n Bike, which begins at Waterfront Park at 10am. Susan McNeese Lynch with the Mayor’s Healthy Hometown Movement says it’s grown in popularity because it’s a good way for aspiring bicyclists to get their feet wet."This teaches you how to bike throughout this community safely and securely, and you’re with a really strong group of people who know what’s they’re doing and they’re able to help you learn how to do urban biking, which is really important if you want to make that part of your physical activity plan," said McNeese Lynch. This year’s 15-mile bike route travels from Waterfront Park through Portland, along Northwestern and Southwestern Parkways, and through Shawnee Park. Those who would rather walk can use a designated one-mile path at Waterfront Park.
