From Kentucky Public Radio's Tony McVeighKentucky Governor Steve Beshear is being sued over his veto of a two-year state road plan approved by the 2008 General Assembly.Senate President David Williams says Governor Beshear not only waited too long to veto the road plan, he has no authority to establish a new road plan. Williams is challenging Beshear’s actions in a 13-page lawsuit filed in Franklin Circuit Court."What the governor has tried to do is veto the legislatively approved road plan with the intent of adding at least $250 million in projects the General Assembly did not approve," Williams said.Governor Beshear is on vacation, but issued a statement indicating he's confident the veto "is effective and in the best interest of the Commonwealth." Beshear also noted that Kentucky House leaders did not join Senator Williams in filing suit.
