Estranged Families
You can pick your friends, the old saying goes, but you can’t pick your family. Sometimes, though, you can unpick them. Family estrangements can happen for any number of reasons – abuse, addictions, divorce, disapproval about life choices, and so on – and can be devastating to those involved. Sometimes a rift between two members can cause an entire family to split as others take sides.
