Downtown Louisville now has more than 300 new hotel rooms.Two neighboring hotels, the SpringHill Suites and the Fairfield Inn and Suites, are now open for business in the 100 block of East Jefferson Street, near the Kentucky International Convention Center.Both are part of the Marriott chain.Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau President Jim Wood says the new facilities are a welcome addition."These conventions continue to grow in size. they grow in attendance and membership each year," Wood said. "It's important for us to stay current with them with new product, and having this hotel with its 333 new rooms, helps add more rooms to our package, helps us take care of more of those visitors coming to town."The facilities contain meeting and recreational space, plus other amenities.
