Former Secretary of State Colin Powell visited Louisville Thursday.Powell spoke at the Kentucky International Convention Center as part of the World Affairs Council’s speakers series.Despite some pundits who have speculated that Powell may be a candidate to be John McCain’s running mate this Fall, Powell said he would not talk about politics.“It’s gonna be a speech about America’s place in the world and the need for America to remain an open and welcoming society because that’s what’s ultimately going to defeat terrorists," he said. "And about some of the problems we’re facing and how we’re going to have to deal with those problems.”According to the event’s sponsor, about 2,500 tickets were sold for the speech.
