Primaries. They can be open or closed, semi-open or semi-closed, or blanket. They seem to keep getting earlier and earlier. They’re all we’ve been hearing about for months, and all we expect to hear about for months to come. They’re not caucuses, though not everyone knows what, exactly, the difference is. Depending on where you live, they may not usually matter much, but this year, even those that are usually too late to make a difference will be important.
