In the wake of recent severe floods in Ecuador, the Kentucky Air National Guard sent some soldiers and cleaning supplies to the South American nation Wednesday.Public Affairs Officer Captain Dale Greer says those supplies are in high demand in Ecuador.“Although the flood waters are primarily receded, they’ve got a lot of problems with mud, sewage mold and mildew so this will help clean up those elements which can cause a severe health hazard obviously," he says.Kentucky troops are involved in the Ecuador mission because of a partnership with the country established by the guard’s Southern Command, under which each southern state’s guard unit is paired with a South American country.
