Registered Nurses Response NetworkMore than 100 Kentucky nurses have joined a new organization called the Registered Nurses Response Network, or RNRN. It was formed in response to the problems many nurses say they faced in attempts to volunteer during hurricane relief in the aftermath of Katrina. WFPL’s Julie Goodwin talks with RNRN members about how the organization hopes to provide support and coordination for volunteer nurses when the next disaster hits.Summer Food ProgramThe Kentucky Department of Education is arranging a summer food program again this year. Sponsors provide meals and snacks for children from May until September when schools are taking the summer break.
