"The Tears of a Clown" is a song written by Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and Hank Crosby. It was originally recorded by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles and released in 1967 on Motown. In 1979, British ska/new wave band The English Beat released a cover of the song as their debut single.
