C D K · Culture Maven on Film: "Don't Look Up"

Film Review & Podcast by c d kaplan

I believe there is a conceptual flaw to Adam McKay’s doomsday flick about a comet headed toward earth, which destroy life.

I discuss it in full in the podcast above.

But, there are also some major flaws in the execution of the film. Which by the by is egregiously too long at two and a half hours.

Not that it would have worked in McKay’s — or anybody’s — hands, given the subject matter and the nature of our times.

Let’s just say there’s a lot in the movie that seems eerily familiar.

Because life these days, for oh so many reasons, is wacked already. And possibly beyond satirization.

Listen to the podcast above.
