Leo: The Paws Report, Oct. 7

On The Paws Report today at 3:30:

Introducing the one, the only, Leo! Six-year-old Leo is a stunning, Turkish Angora mix with glowing green eyes and a solid white coat. He came to the Kentucky Humane Society when his owners were no longer able to care for him; now he’s ready to find his forever home. The Turkish Angora breed is known for their long, silky fur that invites you to stroke them all day long. Leo would be so pleased if you would, too, because he absolutely loves attention! This sweet boy is a total chatterbox who meows to tell us how happy he is and remind us to pet him. Leo is also a gentleman! He plays very gently and will place his paw on your leg to give a warning before jumping into your lap. He has lived with children in his previous home and does well with children of all ages. He coexisted peacefully with the family dog, but can’t seem to find any common ground with cats. Because of this, he will need a home without other felines. Leo is neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations. Do you have a place in your home for a classy cat like Leo? Come visit him today at the Kentucky Humane Society's Main Campus, 241 Steedly Drive in Louisville. Learn about all our adoptable pets at www.kyhumane.org or call 502-366-3355.

KHS is having a free Gelding and Wellness Clinic for owned horses on Saturday, October 10th at the Prestonsburg Equine Center in Eastern KY. This is the third free Gelding Clinic we have implemented this year and it will provide free castration, vaccination and dental services to owned horses. We are hoping these gelding clinics will help provide population control measures in areas where stallions are running free and producing unwanted foals.

In other news, KHS recently took in two puppies from Western KY who are in horrible condition. The puppies are missing most of their fur due to Mange, are very underweight and very under socialized. They will need months of TLC to recover and we are asking the public to help us name these two pups, one a boy and one a girl.

Laura is the afternoon host from 3-6 pm weekdays. Email Laura at lshine@lpm.org
