An unfamiliar music fan would simply call CPHR DVN a rap group. The Louisville duo comprised of Wize and Sultra Divine see their art as something a bit deeper than that.
That’s why they call themselves hip-hop alchemists - who, according to them, are musicians that combine lyrics, beats, and melodies before alchemically transmuting them through love energies into new paradigms, new ideas, and new realities.
The two-time Louisville Music Awards nominees for Hip Hop Artists of the Year will be releasing another EP, #Bliss. If it’s anything like their latest single, #Bye, we can expect lyrics and music that create an environment of inspiration, dedication, and present thought. They reiterate that it’s not simply about personal happiness, but a community of happiness.
That idea of the present sticks to them. The members of CPHR DVN find that living in the now allows for an energetic space to be created, a space that leads to a more peaceful and loving world. Let go of the past and make room for bliss.
You can feel CPHR DVN’s bliss at the release show for their new EP on Sept. 17 at The New Vintage.
