Roscoe: The Paws Report, Sept. 3
Today on The Paws Report at 3:30pm - Roscoe is a gorgeous 10-year-old Borzoi/Greyhound mix with a great sense of humor and a zest for life who is looking for a comfy retirement home. When he arrived at the Kentucky Humane Society, Roscoe had health issues that required investigation: he was highly stressed, had very labored breathing and even passed out once on a hot day. There were days we didn't think Roscoe would make it; we decided to place him in a foster home to get him out of the shelter. As soon as he was in a home, Roscoe's wonderful personality became evident, and his body immediately relaxed; suddenly, the dog who was so shut down in the shelter was a happy, silly dog with a great sense of adventure. In a home, Roscoe no longer felt alone, unloved and abandoned - he had hope. Although Roscoe still has breathing issues, they are controlled by making sure Roscoe stays inside during the heat of the day and that he only goes for short walks when it is cool out. A visit to a medical specialist determined he has a paralyzed larynx, which means Roscoe is unable to control the flaps in the back of his throat to regulate breathing. Roscoe is an optimistic, happy dog. He loves meeting new people, new dogs and cats, and he is great with kids. Roscoe loves going outside for short walks and to watch nature. He definitely has sighthound characteristics: he loves to watch squirrels and birds, and notices everything around him. Roscoe is not on any medications, and really, all he needs is a home to live out his remaining years in peace and happiness. If you have room in your heart for a senior dog, please meet Roscoe. His unique personality and beauty will charm you, and his sense of humor will keep you laughing. Roscoe is neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on vaccinations.
