In the Studio: Iris DeMent

American singer/songwriter Iris DeMent’s first album of original songs in 16 years, titled Sing the Delta, recently came out. Inspired by the passing of her mom, themes of family, home and sense of place emerged on this fantastic new record. Currently on tour, she came by the studio and chatted with us about her life, the new album and why she cherishes time alone.
