Most folks will agree that 2010 has already been a great year for music, even only two weeks into the new decade. One of the interesting points is that there are two sounds that have emerged to the forefront. Great rock with an urgent, impressive drive, and dreamy pop that either teeters towards down-beat, trip-hop, or the Grizzly Bear variety, which is what you get with the new Besnard Lakes. The band that made a splash in 2007 with their disc The Besnard Lakes are the Dark Horse are back with a follow up in which they crown themselves the Roaring Night. While it's a lot of fun to listen to, the Half-Awake Morning might title it better.
