Welcome to the first Daily Feed of 2010. Most of the industry took a vacation for the last few weeks, but that doesn't mean that we were free of a nice surprise or two. None bigger than the debut single Broken Bells, the duo consisting of James Mercer from the Shins and Danger Mouse - uber producer of folks like Beck, The Black Keys, and one half of the Gnarles Barkley team. If you've always been lukewarm on The Shins, this could be the thing that finally makes you a Mercer fan, a talent that Danger Mouse has been known to do for a few other performers as well.
