Listen for a special edition of the Paws Report in the 3pm hour today as we welcome Kelsey Westbrook and her dog Sunny. Sunny (pictured) is truly a rescue dog in every sense of the word. She's the resilient Pit Bull Terrier that was cruelly thrown from the Clark Memorial Bridge on July 28th, 2009. Kelsey and her co-workers rescued the dog from drowning in the Ohio River. On Saturday, Oct. 17 there will be a benefit from 4-7pm at the Wharf beneath Joe's Crab Shack featuring music by Catherine Irwin & Peter Searcy. Proceeds will go to Metro Animal Services, KHS's S.N.I.P. Clinic and The Shamrock Foundation. Also, Michelle Ray will be telling us about special events surrounding Pit Bull Awareness Day sponsored by KHS. You can always visit The Kentucky Humane Society's website or call (502) 366-3355 for more information or to view pictures and profiles of many pets looking for homes.
