You might know the story of Daniel Johnston from his twenty-some-odd year career, maybe from Kurt Cobain interviews, maybe from the documentary The Devil & Daniel Johnston. Then again, maybe you don't. Either way, Johnston has been a footnote in rock history having made some the sweetest, coolest, and sometimes weirdest and most confusing work in the pop catalog. Also known for DIY, lo-fi approach, some fans may find it surprising that for his latest collection, he teamed up with Jason Faulkner to, what is press release says, "take the rock and roll symphonies in Daniel’s prolific musical brain and deliver fully-realized and professionally-produced recorded songs.” Daniel Johnston with Freedom on The Daily Feed.
