John Darnielle gave everyone a bit of a surprise this week when he released the first single and track list from his band, The Mountain Goats, new album The Life of the World To Come. The track is called "Genesis 3:23" and every track is named after a verse from the Bible. But Darnielle cautions that before you accuse him of taking the Goats towards Christian rock, you need only listen to the songs. As reported from an interview over at My Old Kentucky Blog, the vocalist says "It's twelve new songs: twelve hard lessons the Bible taught me, kind of." Well, whatever the reason, we get a nice pop diddy about the nostaligia and ghosts of a previous residence. The Mountain Goats with Genesis 3:23 on The Daily Feed.
