Made it to day two. It rained like a Biblical flood last night. At one point we were under a Tornado Watch and lighting was nature's added light show. So I called it a early evening and slept like a rock. Nick did the same. That's a good thing since we won't be sleeping more than 2 or 3 hours at a time from here on out.
Two years ago everything was covered in dust. Not this year, but mud is everywhere. I'm actually worried I won't be able to get my car out of the campground. What was a driving lane is now 6 inches deep of axle breaking mud.
Who cares? I'm off to see Gomez then Vieux Farka Toure. Also it's good to see Kentuckian Ben Sollee (at right with me) made it here safe on his bike. He said only a few cars came overly close as he rode thru the countryside to get here.
Later!
