Pearl Jam has always been a band about the fans. Of the many ways they take care of their listeners, one is by a vinyl only Christmas single that they've put out yearly since their conception in '91. Of course, if you're a fan club member, you know to never expect it at Christmas. You're Lucky to get it by Easter. But its always worth the wait, and that stays true to the 45 that just landed in mailboxes - and blogs - around the world. This year the A-side, playing off of the Santa theme, is an ode to the Golden City of Santa Cruz and as Heather from I Am Fuel You Are Friends says, "The lyrics to the harmonica-laced “Santa Cruz” couldn’t be any better for my insides; I can almost see the redwoods flashing past, and smell the salty air of the ocean as we approach over Highway 17."
