The Sun Is OUT and Spirits are UP!

I’m sitting in the blazing sun totally grooving to Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings and I don’t think I’ve been so happy listening to live music since Michael Franti’s show on this same stage last year. He played on a Friday in 2007 and for me personally Friday was my "happy" day where as Saturday the whole Bonnaroo experience got to be a bit overwhelming. Well, this year that trend has reversed. I lived in Florida for 12 years, so I’m fine with 101 in the sun, but I’m like a cat; I hate to get wet.

Sharon is so throwing DOWN! So much energy; think Tina Turner. The woman is in her 50’s and she is working it with so much soul. How can she sing after dancing so hard? I am blown away!

I’m noticing a LOT less people here today than yesterday and I’m a bit surprised. I did see several Metallica shirts in the crowd Friday, so I guess their fan came out in force, but I wish they had stuck around. Maybe they didn’t dig the pouring rain last night either. I have to say again that they put on a heck of a show. So did the Raconteurs, but in a different way.

Well, I’m not missing anymore of Sharon; gotta run!
