Louisville Lost & Found

Louisville's Lost and Found is a journey into the rich past of the Louisville music scene in the '60s and '70s. Join Duke and Marvin Maxwell, the drummer for Soul Inc. and Elysian Field, for a totally unique new program. Also joining Duke and Marvin each week is Leonard Yates, owner of one of the largest collections of local music in the area. They'll explore the treasures Marvin and Ed Amick rescued from destruction ... hundreds of hours of recording sessions from Allen Martin Productions from the '60s and '70s.

Duke Meyer
Duke was born and raised in Shively, Kentucky, and graduated from Western High School. He wanted to pursue a career as a well-paid, multi-talented baseball player. The desire was there, but a massive lack of talent put a halt to that ambition. After a few years in the Army reserve, in Armed Forces Radio and Television, he decided to make radio his career. While working in radio here in Louisville, Duke returned to school and graduated from Spalding University with a B.S. degree in Mass Communication and spent a short time teaching at the University of Louisville and Spalding University.

After leaving commercial radio he was contacted by WFPK and working together, "Relics" was born - a mix of great old rock tunes from the mid '60s to the mid '70s. Relics can be heard every Saturday afternoon from four til seven.

Marvin Maxwell
Marvin Maxwell was the drummer for Soul Inc. and Elysian Field as well as a drummer for numerous sessions at Allen Martin Productions during the '60s and '70s. Today he is the proprietor of Mom's Music store and Jammin' Johns and is creating a new drumstick called the "Warclub". He and his community minded family also support MERF (Musician's Emergency Resouce Foundation) and run the Louisville Rockschool - an eight week program for budding rock stars ages 8-18!

Leonard Yates
Leonard Yates is a retired elementary school principal. He has extensive knowledge of the Louisville music scene for the time period covered by Louisville's Lost and Found: the 1950s through 1970s. He also has a large music collection of Louisville artists.
