Classical 90.5 celebrates the Jewish holidays with 3 special programs September 2, 3 and 12 at 8 pm.
In a one-hour special, Musical Memories of the High Holidays, superstar violinist Itzhak Perlman shares a wide variety of recordings that have special meaning for him, including several of his own performances. Ranging from classical gems to cantorial singing to raucous klezmer fiddling, the music will spark warm associations and an emotional response for all listeners. Monday, September 2, at 8 pm.
Join Cantor David Lipp of Louisville’s Congregation Adath Jeshurun for a Classical 90.5 special, “Music of the High Holy Days,” Tuesday, September 3, at 8 pm. In the first hour-long program, Cantor Lipp will guide us through the musical expression of the Jewish people at this time of year, including the Jewish New Year. The second program in the series, “Music Inspired by High Holy Day Themes”, is scheduled for broadcast Thursday, September 12, at 8pm on Classical 90.5.
