The 2012 Classical 90.5 / PNC Wealth Management Young Artist Competition was held on November 3 at Louisville Public Media. First prize was awarded to 15-year-old violinist Hyo Kwon (Ted) Kang for his performance of Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1.
The annual competition, sponsored by PNC Wealth Management, is open to young musicians, ages 8-18, performing as soloists or in ensembles.
Classical 90.5-FM will showcase the winners in a live radio broadcast during Lunchtime Classics, Wednesday, November 28, at noon. The Winners’ Recital will take place in the performance studio of Louisville Public Media (619 S. Fourth Street). It is free and open to the public on a first-come basis. Because this is a live broadcast, the audience is asked to be seated by 11:45am.
