At a time when the economy and elections loom large, the people of Metro Louisville and Southern Indiana rallied support for Louisville Public Media’s three distinct public radio stations. Contributions to the Fall Membership Campaign exceeded the previous autumn by 15 percent.
With $500,000 needed to sustain existing programming, Louisville Public Media faced an increase of $75,000 in the Fall Membership goal. Contributing listeners came through in record time, including 1,485 new members. As outside funding sources continue to fluctuate, listener support is the most stable and crucial source of revenue.
“The role of individuals in sustaining this essential public service has never been more important,” said Donovan Reynolds, president of Louisville Public Media. “We are grateful for everyone’s generosity, but also for their recognition that our community deserves access to quality, independent news and cultural programming.”
